Attorneys
Michael W. Seckar
Mr. Seckar graduated from Pueblo East High School in 1974. He earned his college degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He graduated from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1982. Mr. Seckar founded the law firm in Pueblo in 1990. The law firm has focused on representing injured and disabled individuals in Southern Colorado since 1990.
Mr. Seckar is currently focusing on representing individuals who have been denied Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims. He has handled thousands of Social Security hearings. He also has extensive experience appealing denials to the Appeals Council and to the Federal Court. He aggressively handles every case to the highest level of appeal justified by the facts.
Lawrence D. Saunders
Mr. Saunders is a litigation attorney with more than twenty-one years’ experience trying cases throughout Colorado. He presently focuses on the representation of injured workers. Mr. Saunders has litigated hundreds of cases before workers’ compensation administrative law judges, and has represented injured workers before the Colorado Supreme Court. Mr. Saunders strives to give each client the personal attention their case deserves.
Mr. Saunders attended the University of Nevada – Reno, where he majored in physics, and graduated in 1991 from the University of Wyoming Law School. His practice has included the representation of criminal defendants in DUI cases, including major felonies, as well as the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in civil personal-injury lawsuits.
Office Staff
Joan Seckar
Joan Seckar graduated from East High School in Pueblo. She graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a B.S. in Finance. She has been the Office Manager for Michael Seckar for 23 years.
She has two sons. The oldest is a photographer/videographer in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. Her youngest son is in his third year of law school at the University of Wyoming.
Her interests include farming and ranching, showing horses, cooking, and gardening.
Rebecca Sharp
Rebecca Sharp did her undergraduate studies at Colorado State University-Pueblo. She is a paralegal for Michael W. Seckar, P.C.
and has 11 years of legal experience, 8 of which she has spent specializing in Social Security Law. Rebecca is married with two sons, and her interests include spending time with her friends and family, camping, wakeboarding, and reading.
